About
This is the blog of Jim Daniels (JD). Some of my personal interests include Combat Veterans International, motorcycles, endurance motorcycle riding, Iron Butt Association, travel, photography, computing, Amateur Radio, Special Olympics, family and friends. I am an Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer working in the aerospace industry. With the exception of four years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, I have lived and worked in the Seattle, WA area for nearly all of my life. I am married with three grown sons and I have three grand children.
I would like to give credit where credit is due. The motto on my banner "There is no such thing as bad riding weather, just bad riding gear." was shamelessly stolen from Dave Dragon’s blog. It seemed so appropriate for the Pacific NW that I was compelled to plagiarize. Thank’s Dave, I will buy you a couple of cold ones should we ever meet. ![]()
The watercolor painting used as the wallpaper background on JDsRoad was painted by Ron Vilim.
He used one of the pictures of me riding my K1200LT on the Tail of the Dragon as the model.
The actual photograph that was used can be seen HERE. The perspective was reversed and various artistic omissions and embellishments applied.
If you haven’t figured out how to leave comments to the blog posts there are two ways to get there. Click on the title of the article and scroll to the bottom of the page or click on the yellow balloon with a number. It’s located at the top right corner. Clicking the balloon will take you to the dedicated article page, just like clicking on the title, but it automatically scrolls the page to the comment entry form at the bottom of the page.
